FIGHT CLUB ARTEFACT PART 2: IKEA APARTMENT
We made a list of the Ikea furniture that was contained in the apartment and began to split each part up between us. I took the dining table, chairs, the rug, and flowerpot & side table. We began to model our respective pieces of furniture while showing each other our work and giving tips.
However, we came to a problem when Mike had a look at our project. He found that the soap idea was not symbolic enough to represent the theme we were going for. He felt that it wouldn't read very easily in the eyes of a general audience. We took this on board and realised that it was quite an abstract concept and may be difficult to decipher. So, we decided to switch it up - we chose instead to model the apartment in a state of order and tidiness, and also in a state of destruction and chaos. This, we felt, would better display the theme of a split personality in the film. It would show the two sides to Tyler's character.
