Final Outcomes

I was very pleased with how our group handled this project as a whole. I am proud with the results of both the schematic and the artefact. I believe we worked well as a team for the most part. We took on board criticism from Mike and others, and adapted our artefact accordingly. Although we were hesitant with the concept of making our artefact in Maya at first, we thought that it would leave us with less boundaries and we could achieve our idea successfully. I believe the outcome of our apartment scene was successful. It would have been nice to go with the destroyed apartment - however, given the time constraints, the quality would have suffered. Consequently, I agreed with the idea of drastically and abruptly changing the colours and music to achieve the same effect.

As for the schematic, I was pleased with the final result also. We put a lot of time and effort into making the final draft, after a lot of research and brainstorming. The final result took several hours to design and put together. I think it showed the characters' timelines clearly and linked their interactions accurately.

We could have, however, consulted with other teams/lecturers at an earlier stage to get feedback quickly on our ideas. This would have allowed us more time to adapt our ideas and may have allowed us to model the destroyed furniture sooner.

Unlike the projects of last semester, we were continuously in contact with each other for this project. As opposed to having one scheduled group meeting or so a week, we were giving feedback and communicating at almost any time. After laying the groundwork for the project, we decided to tackle the schematic first, and the artefact second. Of course, we still set ourselves deadlines to get the work in time also. There wasn't much lateness with work being done or any serious animosity within the group. We got the work done on time, and to a good standard, I believe.
